When you visit Grove, Oklahoma, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how many things there are to do around town and nearby. While in Grove, you can visit the many sites and attractions, such as Har-Ber Village, spend a day shopping through antique stores, and even have a night of fun and games at Grand Lake Casino. Though small and quaint, Grove even features its very own golf course! And we can’t forget to mention the beautiful Grand Lake, perfect for bass fishing and boating! By taking just a short drive outside of town, you can take part in a variety of other activities.

One of the best destination outside of Grove is Twin Bridges State Park. Less than thirty minutes away from Grove, you can spend an entire weekend camping, boating, and playing around the state park. Let’s take a closer look at everything Twin Bridges has to offer.

Highlights of Twin Bridges State Park

Perfectly located on the edge of Grand Lake, Twin Bridges provides a great spot for fishing and boating. The park features its own marina and fishing center, where you can find bait, gear, and snacks—not to mention the enclosed fishing dock.

Grand Lake is actually quite renown for its great fishing, and the lake was even used for the Bassmaster Classic in 2013 and 2016. Here you can try your luck at catching any of the many types of fish in the lake, from bass and catfish to spoonbill! While on the subject of fish, you can also check out the Wildlife Department’s Paddlefish Research and Processing Center for some education and fun!

Endless Possibilities

When visiting Twin Bridges State Park during the summer, you’ll obviously be able to take part in all of the activities listed above, but that doesn’t mean the fun stops when winter comes. At this time of the year, you can spot eagles throughout the trees of the park. During the Christmas season, you can drive through the park’s wonderful light display—a perfect activity for the family.

Clearly, when you visit Twin Bridges State Park at the end of Grand Lake, you’ll be in for a real treat. Whether you choose to sleep under the stars or sleep soundly in one of the cabins, camping at the park is a must! If you get bored, though we don’t think you will, you can always make the short drive back to Grand Lake Casino to play a variety of great games.
